Uganda is in greatest need for youth mentoring " a program designed to equip youths with social & life skills on their transition journey from adolescence to adulthood"

This follows a recent release in Monitor publications , a local newspaper that "Majority of patients admitted to Butabika National Referral Mental Hospital are university and high school studenys suffering from alcohol and drug addiction or abuse" as revealed by Dr. David Basangwa, the hospital Executive Director.
According to Permanent Secretary ministry of Health,Dr. Atwine Diana, " More than 90% of people admitted to Butabika hospital's alcohol and drug unit are mainly youth of University going age"

The Rock Family Youth Mission is in direct response to this Urgent call for Youth mentoring in the country. However the gross need outweighs the available human resource to offer this necessary social service.

Youth mentoring offers protective factors against youth destructive habits like drug and substance abuse, early sex engagement, school drop-out and other social-economic challenges that would otherwise affect their successful transition to adulthood.

Rock Family Youth Mission particularly uses structured programs designed to protect vulnerable and at risk youth but also offers a rehabilitation ground for those who are already victims through social iterractions and creating personal relationships with the young people.

Research has shown that adolescent social, cognitive, emotional and physical development places youth at a high risk of self-destructive behaviors, especially like self-
mutilation and suicide, drug & substance abuse which have long term consequences on the unlucky ones.
According to research, Youth mentoring improves academic performance in school, reduced involvement in self destructive behaviours and improves overall productivity in their  future adult life.

We therefore implore everyone to embrace and support this cause as a matter of Urgency. Are you an adult who wants to impact the young generation? Join Rock Family Youth Mission today….
